Post Pandemic Travel Situation in India
Since March 2020, India and the whole world have been suffering and facing the pandemic that gave a standstill to everything. India suffered a devastating phase of the pandemic in 2021 as it was the center of the Delta variant. One of the industries that got shut down in India because of the pandemic is travel and tourism. Covid-19 impacted the travel industry worse than other industries as no one was allowed to leave their houses. The country closed its borders at the start of the pandemic and banned all its scheduled domestic & international flights, trains and buses to prevent the spread of the virus.
However, the good thing is that restrictions have now eased and people can travel post pandemic after following certain precautions and preventive measures.
As the travel restriction has been uplifted, here are some pointers that one needs to keep in mind-
In November 2021, India reopened its tourism sector for the first time after the pandemic with certain precautionary rules. People from other countries are allowed to travel to India now. However, the travel restrictions depend on the vaccination status of the people.
What are the requirements to travel Post pandemic?
● You need to carry your vaccination certificate at the airport arrival. While arriving at the airport, all arrivals will be screened.
● Anyone showing symptoms will be screened and will not be allowed to board their flight.
● No matter what sort of travel convenience you’re choosing, you can expect thermal screening.
● If anyone who’s not vaccinated their full dose might have to show a negative RT-PCR.
Since February 2021, those travelers who’re vaccinated with both doses of WHO-recognized vaccines don’t need to undergo a test on arrival or bring a negative RT-PCR report. Now, quarantine is also no longer needed on arrival from other countries or cities. International travelers just need to do a self-monitoring of their health.
As India has lifted and eased its travel restrictions, people have started traveling keeping the travel guidelines in mind.
